Tips for deep cleaning your new apartment

You bought a new apartment and just moved in. You think to yourself: it is finally over. It’s over with the stress and worries about whether everything will go as it should during the relocation. However, no matter how excited and happy you are to finally get your new home, there are some things you need to do right away on the first day. The not-so-favorite part of relocation – cleaning before moving in. But don’t worry, cause we’ve got your back. Here are some of our tips for deep cleaning your new apartment. Put your gloves on and begin.

Cleaning can be fun!

We know, we know. This sounds like something our moms would tell us when we were little, to make us clean even when we don’t want to. And most of the time you wouldn’t. But cleaning an apartment can really be a pleasant experience. Play some music while cleaning the apartment. Throw Netflix on your laptop and take it with you while cleaning different rooms.

Music can make your cleansing day less painful; you just need to be a little creative. Also, do something special for yourself when you’re finished. It could be a meal from your favorite restaurant or a break to relax, but whatever you do, make sure you treat yourself. Now, onto the tips!

Tips for deep cleaning your new apartment

Though it may not sound as important as any other part of the moving process, cleaning your apartment does make a difference. In the end, you don’t want to put your things in a dirty closet or bath in a dirty tub. No matter if you’re moving in alone or you have your partner and family to help. Those small things can really change the feeling of comfort in a place you’re going to call your own. A lot of people don’t know where to start, and that’s why we’re here. So let’s begin.

Bathroom

First things first, you want to clean the room that’s probably been used last by previous owners. You want to start with the least pleasant part of the bathroom – the toilet. First, clean the toilet, then switch to the floor, then the bathtub. Our motto is to start with the least pleasant parts of the task, and then move on to easier ones.

Kitchen

Speaking of easier, though it may not seem that way, you want to move to the kitchen. Wipe the work surfaces, clean the sink and clean all those stubborn grease stains on the stove.

Bedroom

This is the most important of all the tips for deep cleaning your apartment. If you want that sweet dreams moment, you want to thoroughly clean every part of the bedroom. Closets, nightstands, and most importantly, bed. If you have any money left, call someone to deep clean the mattress. Or at least vacuum it. Sleep tight and don’t let the bed bugs bite.

Dust

Clean out all the cobwebs and dust. You can use paper towels, cloth or, this one may sound weird, but it’s not weird if it works, a sock. Just put it over your hand and clean the dust above the doors, over the cupboards, and between the blinds.

Floors

You’ll definitely want to steam-mop your hardwood floors. If you decide to use the regular mop, make sure that it is damp and not sogging. That way you’ll protect the finish on the hardwood.

All done!

As we said earlier, though moving can be tough if you don’t find the right relocating company, cleaning can be even tougher. We can say that our tips for deep cleaning your new apartment came dust in time, right? Hope we helped you with preparing your place for a neat move-in and a clean finish!
